The Bartlett

University College London | London, UK

The challenge

University College London commissioned us to develop a system of wayfinding within the newly refurbished iconic Bartlett School of Architecture. The aim was to keep the wayfinding as a light-touch intervention, allowing the building’s natural legibility to guide users as far as possible.

What we did

We created vinyl transfers for the signs, placing them on new concrete walls and columns using the school’s branding. Careful consideration was made to develop the content in a way that suited the new set of spaces. The project involved audits, working closely with the school to agree on content generation, sign design, artworking, and managing the manufacture and installation.

Why it works

Our light-touch wayfinding approach worked wonderfully with the inherent legibility of the building.
