King’s College London

King’s College London | London, UK

The challenge

King’s College London commissioned us to provide a wayfinding strategy, initially for their School of Law that was relocating to the newly acquired East Wing of Somerset House. The building was also to be the new home of the King’s Cultural Quarter, along with a number of new business and conference suites and seminar spaces.

What we did

Our work involved consultation with a wide group of stakeholders, including the project architects BDP, law faculty students and staff, King’s College Estates, Somerset House Trust, local authority planners, and listed building officers. The scheme was then extended across other KCL estates, updating the existing wayfinding, and putting a strategy in place to record and manage existing wayfinding systems and mapping.

Why it works

Such a prestigious institution deserves the best in wayfinding and we were able to bring new life into Somerset House and across the campus.
