Placemarque were appointed to develop a wayfinding design guide for Sheffield Hallam University. This involved analysing the wayfinding needs for two complex campus areas, along with satellite building within Sheffield city centre.
The project has involved working with stakeholders, analysing wayfinding hierarchies and nomenclature and incorporating the university’s new branding into a complete new wayfinding system for both internal and external signage.
We have developed a new sign family and specification for signage that reinforces the new brand and identity. The sign family is designed to work in a variety of environments and can be updated as required. Placemarque have written a design guide to set out the principles for the sign procurement in the future to ensure a consistent identity and style is developed.
