The Ev0 Building in Didsbury Technology Park is Bruntwood Work’s latest development project in Manchester. It will be Bruntwood’s flagship low carbon commercial development, achieving net zero in both upfront construction and operation.

40% of the UK’s carbon emissions come from the built environment, so it is absolutely critical that the buildings we build today are built with the future in mind to mitigate climate change.

We are starting the early phases of work to deliver a wayfinding strategy for both the external and internal signage for the building.

Sophie Campbell, Placemarque’s Creative Director, said:

“The Ev0 building will be a distinctive, landmark building because of its eco-credentials.

We’ll be working closely with Bruntwood and the wider design team to devise a wayfinding solution that reflects the building’s unique identity whilst at the same time incorporating Bruntwood’s established branding.”

The Ev0 building, so named because it will reflect and represent the developer’s continued evolution towards net zero, will adhere to the UK Green Building Council’s net zero carbon framework.

It will use low carbon materials, generate 94% of its energy on site and be designed to work with solar gain to maximise passive heating and cooling.

The vision is for the Ev0 building to act as a blueprint for low carbon workspaces up and down the country as we work to reverse the impacts of climate change.

Ciara Keeling, CEO at Bruntwood Works, said:

“The development of Ev0 will be a major milestone on our net zero journey.

Now, more than ever, it’s important for businesses to take affirmative action to reduce their carbon footprint. That also means being fully transparent when it comes to presenting data and assessments, so it was important to us to create an authentically NZC workspace. We’re incredibly proud to be creating one of the lowest carbon workspaces in the UK.”
