Arcapita | Bahrain, Middle East
The challenge
As this project was based in the Middle East, our most immediate challenge was working in both English and Arabic. The next challenge was finding a way to encourage pedestrian circulation while taking into account the hot climate.
What we did
We designed an identity and a range of pedestrian sign structures for this exciting waterside development in Manama in Bahrain. The public space masterplan by New York architects SOM centered around encouraging pedestrian usage, wide, shaded promenades, and making public spaces an integral part of the development.
Why it works
Key to the success of this approach was the implementation of easy-to-understand wayfinding and signage to reflect the development’s brand values and prestige.
