The challenge
This Dartford retail park was looking tired and needed replacement gateway totems to create a more exciting sense of arrival.
What we did
We developed a series of striking signs to mark the retail park’s entrances and to direct drivers to the car parking. However, difficulty in providing power to the sign required an alternative solution. We incorporated photovoltaic cells into the signs, which power the lighting and require little maintenance. We progressed the design and applied it to service vehicle and parking bay signs as well.
Why it works
Using the British Land brand guidelines, which set out rules for fonts, colours, and logo treatments, the sign design can be used at the developer’s other retail parks around the UK.
