The challenge

Located on the River Haven, Boston is a bustling market town and historic port with a great heritage. Our wayfinding solution needed to update the existing fingerposts and introduce new mapping and interpretation monoliths to reveal the town’s unique stories and encourage visitors to explore.

What we did

We used the location of Boston as a historic port and point along the river as its defining theme to incorporate into the graphics. The colours we chose were specifically to reflect the waterside character.

Why it works

The scheme was funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund and also included detailed interpretation stories to reveal key elements of this town with such a rich heritage.
